I don't think you truly understand the seriousness of this flaw!! Since my solution is only checking the folder every few hours, I have been turning off Dropbox if I am doing a lot of work on the wiki, then manually cleaning the backup folder before turning Dropbox back on. Pick an option, one or the other, but you can't have it both ways.
