![]() ![]() ![]() The only exception to fertilized eggs would be the Wyvern, Rock Drake, Deinonychus, and Magmasaur, none of which can be tamed in the wild and their fertile eggs must be obtained from the wild nest. It is also notable that the creatures have to stay close and the wandering mechanic might drive them apart. A mating bar will appear, and once finished, the female will lay a fertilized egg (differentiated by a red cloud surrounding the egg). They have to be near each and both have to be set on wander or set to mating, not overloaded, not following and not mounted (for mountable dino). To mate creatures, you must have a tamed male and female of the same species. The ability to hatch fertilized eggs was added in v219.0 through breeding. Currently, they can be used as a food source (players can consume them for large amounts of nourishment), for creating Kibble (a useful item for fast and effective taming), and for hatching (to raise baby creatures fertilized eggs only). Not sure if you've got the right egg size or where to harvest specific sizes of eggs from different creatures? Here's a handy chart showing what type of dino offers which egg type so you can make all the kibble you need: Extra Small Egg Note that the water skin must be at least 25% full, but if you are using water irrigation connected to an industrial cooker, you can skip this ingredient entirely. While the revamped Ark kibble recipes vary, they all include fiber x5 and a water skin. To craft kibble just combine the ingredients in a lit cooking pot with fuel (or an industrial cooker) and wait - each stack of kibble requires 30 seconds to cook.Įvery kibble type requires a specific kind of egg plus a number of ingredients listed in the chart. Unlike most other objects crafted in Ark, engrams are not required for kibble, which are instead made using the recipes below. Otherwise, here's the specific types to use for drastically increased taming speed: Kibble Type In other words, if you don't have the specific preferred type of kibble available, just use something else to tame a dino. Using the wrong type of kibble actually has less effectiveness than either using the dino's preferred food or even using straight raw meat, reducing it below the standard 1x taming speed. Here's the thing to keep in mind: any type of kibble can be used for any creature, but they shouldn't be. While the info below is current as of this writing and applies to most players, note that the reworked kibble system hasn't actually been implemented yet on mobile or Switch editions of Ark. Let's dive into which dinos prefer which type, and then take a look at the specific recipes for each variation. The entire system saw a major revamp recently, and now kibble is broken down into these types: ![]() Kibble is a sure fire way to quickly tame dinos and get better results, but many players are finding their old kibble recipe no longer work, or that some dinos no longer seem particularly interested in kibble. ![]()
